Q: How much do The Soul Band charge?

A: The band quotes for gigs on an individual basis, taking into account travelling distance, type of venue, public or private event etc. So please enquire, and a quote will be made within a very short time. Obviously, every band member's availability must also be double-checked.

Personnel

Q: Does the band do requests? Can they play our favourite song?

A: Naturally, the band will be happy to play any song from their current set-list; just ask for a copy to be sent to you. Other numbers may also be possible, so please enquire, but remember that this is a band that specializes in Vintage Soul, R+B, and Rock’n Roll!

Personnel

Q: How much space do the band require?

A: It has to be said that the band have squeezed into some fairly tight corners in its time! But, a stage area approximately 6 metres x 3 metres is the desirable minimum for most events. An important requirement at an outdoor, marquee-type event is a minimum solid area about 2 metres x 2 metres, for the drum kit to stand securely on.

Q: What about the electrical supply requirements?

A: In general, two 13 Amp twin-socket outlets in the stage area are adequate, but the more the better, naturally. In technical terms, the maximum requirements are approximately 1.5Kw for sound equipment, and 2.5kw for lighting. If there is any uncertainty about the supply, or if a generator has to be used, Steve, the band's sound engineer, will contact the client directly to discuss this.

Q: Is a dressing room required for the band?

A: Of course, a room available for changing is preferable, as is somewhere to leave personal bits and pieces during the performance. However, it is understood that this may not always be possible, and the band do understand where this is the case.

Q: What happens during the breaks, and before the band starts to play?

A: If no specific requirements for background music are stipulated, the band will provide suitable fill-in music before and between sets. In some cases, people have compiled their own CD's of music to be played while the band are not on stage, and this has worked well. It can be an important detail, and worth putting a little thought into before your event.

Q: Do the band require a meal to be provided?

A: There is no requirement for food to be provided for the band, but obviously, depending on the location of your event, band members may spend perhaps 6 or 7 hours on the road and performing. Some refreshment is always much appreciated.

Q: Can I ask another question?

A: Absolutely. Questions about any detail, however small, are welcomed. The band has a wealth of experience that any client can benefit from.

The Soul Band is essentially a bunch of musicians who get their kicks from playing great music to a receptive, happy crowd. The more fun you have, the more fun they have, and so it all goes around. It is in everybody's interest to have a really great night, and they’ll do all they can to get things absolutely right for your party
